Steve Damron

Dr. W. Stephen Damron received B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Tennessee. He joined the OSU Animal Science Department in 1988 after having taught at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and the University of Wisconsin at River Falls. Dr. Damron has received 25 awards and recognitions for teaching and advising excellence, including the Carnegie Foundation’s Oklahoma Professor of the Year. In Dr. Damron’s teaching career of nearly 30 years, he has advised nearly 2,000 students and taught over 20,000 in his classes. He has served the Animal Science Department as Teaching Coordinator and Scholarship Coordinator. He is an effective college and campus leader, contributes to the scholarship of teaching, and is a successful textbook author. Dr. Damron was named Interim Assistant Dean for Academic Programs beginning November 1, 2011.
