Oklahoma State University

Scholarship Basics

First-year freshman, transfer, and continuing students can take advantage of scholarship opportunities. Scholarships are awarded based primarily on academic achievement and/or potential, leadership involvement, and community service, and Oklahoma State University scholarships are available at three different levels.

University Level

Regardless of major or area of interest, any student admitted into Oklahoma State University can apply for University-level scholarships.  Contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid for more information.

College level

The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) awards a multitude of scholarships to currently enrolled OSU students pursuing degrees in major areas of study within CASNR.  Students must be majoring within a CASNR major to qualify for these awards.  To apply continuing CASNR students should complete the CASNR On-line Scholarship Application.  This application becomes available on-line each November and must be submitted by January 15 each year.

Departmental level

CASNR has nine academic departments and 16 different majors that recognize outstanding current students with scholarship awards.  While most departments use the CASNR On-line Scholarship Application to make awards, each unit is responsible for distributing award information to students.  Therefore, students should seek guidance from their specific department about scholarship opportunities and application processes specific to their area of study.

Performance-Based Scholarships

Several campus units, including the theater, music, athletics and judging teams, offer special scholarships/awards or stipends to students.  Students interested in competing for these awards should contact the respective unit to learn about available awards and the application and competition processes.

Out-of-State Scholarships

Non-Oklahoma resident undergraduates who are fully admissible to Oklahoma State University in good standing, who intend to enroll with a full-time student status, and who meet the eligibility criteria can qualify for a non-resident incentive tuition waiver scholarship.  To apply, students must complete the Undergraduate Application for Admission/Scholarships.

Priority Deadlines

The scholarship deadline for current CASNR students to complete the CASNR On-line Scholarship Application for continuing CASNR students is January 15 of each yer.
