Career Services
Career development begins the day a student enrolls on the Oklahoma State University campus, if not before. Career development efforts impact each student's future; therefore, it is not a process that should be put off until two weeks before graduation. The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources has a Career Services unit that assists prospective students, current students and alumni with exploring career options, developing plans of action for achieving career success, and with preparing for the next step after graduation.
CASNR Career Services is a partner in developing students' careers, but individual student effort and involvement are the keys to success. As a partner and support service, the mission of CASNR Career Services is to provide resources, services and skill development opportunities that will educate CASNR students and empower them to make effective life and career decisions. The competencies Career Services seeks to develop among students who choose to engage with the services and resources available include:
- Accepting personal responsibility
- Understanding self
- Understanding of the world of work
- Making career decisions
- Gaining relevant experience
- Networking
- Preparing for the transition from school to work
- Searching and applying for opportunities.
