When to Apply
The priority deadline for the Undergraduate Application for Admission/Scholarships is February 1 of the year a student plans to attend. It is recommended that students complete and return the application by the deadline, as most award selection committees meet in February and most award notifications are sent during mid-March.
College and Department Scholarship Consideration
To ensure consideration for scholarships available from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and its respective departments, prospective freshmen students need to complete the college name requested in Question #5 with "Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources" (CASNR) on the Undergraduate Application for Admission/Scholarships. The Office of Scholarship and Financial Aid office will forward applications with this college designation to CASNR for scholarship award consideration.
To be considered for scholarship awards by a specific department, prospective freshmen students need to complete the degree name (also Question #5) with one of the academic majors within CASNR. Students who are still trying to decide between different majors within CASNR should list both degrees under consideration. The CASNR Academic Programs Office will forward student application information to the department(s) indicated.
Award Notification
Each unit is responsible for contacting students about their awards. Most award notifications are distributed by mid-March of the year a student plans to attend, and most often, only students who receive an award are contacted.
