CASNR offers an interstate of choices with a multitude of exits and even more possible destinations. With ffifteen majors and over 70 option areas for you to choose, you might just find a major that is just the ticket for you.
In CASNR you can study and learn to apply science, mathematics, chemistry, biology, computer science, accounting, finance, the environment, marketing, education, communications and, of course, agriculture. We study such broad and diverse things; it is often difficult to figure out which road you should take. But if any of these possible "exits" are appealing to you, your destination just might be CASNR.
- We focus on living organisms and what it takes to sustain them.
- We study plants and animals from the genes on up.
- We study people--from health, medicine and nutrition to rural communities to global economics of food and fiber.
- We study methods of balancing the use of our natural resources: soils, groundwater, lakes, streams, and forests.
- Of course, we study agricultural crops and livestock and are heavily involved in areas such a biotechnology in animals and plants.
If your career goals are not yet in focus, that is okay; some of our students enroll knowing exactly their intended care path, while others arrive with just a general area of interest.
