Branding Your Organization on Campus
Involvement & Sponsorship Opportunities
The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources provides multiple opportunities for organizations to increase their campus presence by sponsoring student and faculty programs and activities in exchange for on-campus publicity as a sponsor. Becoming involved with CASNR's living-learning communities, CASNR Roundup, CASNR Career Development Week, the Career Liaison program, CASNR Ambassadors, student recruitment events, departmental and graduate seminars, and/or faculty development programs are just a few of the ways employers may gain valuable visibility while making great connections with students, faculty and staff. Organizations interested in program involvement and sponsorship should contact CASNR Career Services at 405.744.9464 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information and assistance.
Host an Organization Feature Night
Feature Nights are a traditional service many organizations use to make connections with students and to showcase their opportunities. Coordinated on a weekday evening, these sessions provide the chance for organizations to discuss organizational culture, specific positions, application processes, and other basic information, while also answering student questions, all prior to conducting student interviews. A minimum of three (3) weeks advance noticed is required for Feature Night requests. Feature Nights may be requested online at: https://okstatecasnr.az1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_eevYXbeBU9W406x.
Connect in Classes within CASNR
The OSU College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources offers three options for connecting with students within the classroom:
- Class Commercials consist of brief, 5-10 minute time allotments at the very beginning or very end of a class, as determined by the faculty instructor, during which an employer representative may speak about his or her organization and its opportunities. Multiple class commercials may be coordinated during a single visit to the OSU campus, if possible. A minimum of three (3) weeks advance notice is required for Cclassroom Commercial" requests. Classroom Commercial requests may be submitted online at: https://okstatecasnr.az1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_bdem1zJu9gkpWol.
- The Professor for a Day experience occurs when an employer representative works with a faculty instructor to identify and present a lecture or activity during a specified single class meeting and of relevance to a specific course-related topic. Representatives engaged in the classroom in this manner provide invaluable real world insight to students enrolled in the class. Multiple professor for a day experiences may be coordinated during a single visit to the OSU campus, if possible. A minimum of three (3) weeks advance notice is required for "Professor for a Day" requests. Professor for a Day requests may be submitted online at: https://okstatecasnr.az1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_2gVIwnUU28mHPxP.
- An Employer in Residence experience occurs when an employer representative or organization collaborates with a faculty instructor of a specific course to engage with the class on multiple occasions throughout a semester and to add value by speaking on specific topics, facilitating case studies, and interacting in other ways. Interactions may be in person on campus, on location at an employer site, via technology (i.e., Skype, discussion boards, etc.) or coordinated through a combination of these and other means. Representatives engaged in adding instructional value in this manner enhance students' ability to apply knowledge gained in their courses in "real world" settings. Requests to serve as an "employer in residence" must be submitted no later than August 15, 2016, and may be made online at: https://okstatecasnr.az1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_4UQgWjByjvkdzOl.
With increasing costs of higher education, establishing a scholarship program is another valuable way for an employer to gain campus recognition while also contributing to the preparation of future professionals. Employers interested in supporting scholarships for CASNR students should contact Ms. Kathy McNally, Associate Vice President for Development, at 405.385.5606 or email@example.com.
