Why choose CASNR?

CASNR is committed to providing students depth of knowledge in their chosen field of study, as well as breadth of knowledge outside their major. CASNR’s academic programs prepare students to analyze information, communicate effectively, think critically, solve problems and assume leadership roles in their respective fields of study.

CASNR students come from both traditional agricultural roots and urban settings, a diversity that strengthens the college experience. Active international programs, including study abroad opportunities, are available to students in every CASNR major and add another unique dimension for students.

Our Commitment to Excellence

Scholarship Opportunities

CASNR and its departments annually award more than $1.4 million in scholarships to students enrolled in and entering the college. When awarding scholarships, CASNR looks at several areas of a student’s background including (but not limited to): scholastic standing in high school or college; leadership qualities; financial need; and sincere interest in the various CASNR disciplines. In addition to the college and departmental level, scholarships are also offered at the university level.

Academic Programs

CASNR’s high-quality academic programs prepare students to analyze information, communicate effectively, think critically, solve problems and assume leadership roles in their respective fields of study. Our courses are taught by award-winning faculty members and provide them the opportunity to share their knowledge with students.

Faculty Advising

CASNR advisers are faculty members who advise, teach courses and are involved professionally in the area you are studying. Faculty advisers will assist in planning an individual program of study that considers your background, interests and future plans.

Hands-On Learning

CASNR is committed to providing students depth of knowledge in their chosen field of study. We emphasize hands-on learning beginning your student’s first semester on campus. All students regardless of major will benefit from practical, hands-on experiences that will prepare them for real-world success.

Student Involvement

CASNR has more than 60 student clubs and organizations plus several competitive teams for you to get involved in. These groups will provide you with tremendous leadership and career development opportunities. Networking with industry leaders, getting to know faculty, social interaction and a sense of belonging are just a few of the things you will experience by joining student organizations.
